| January 31 | Coaching the EFT Way At ICF conference in November, we were
reminded and challenged again to work on the business side of our coaching
businesses as hard as we've worked on obtaining our coaching skill
sets. If you're like most coaches, this message brings up some negative
emotional responses. Our meeting this month is designed to address any
emotional blocks you may have around building your business. We're going
to learn a powerful tool which you can also use with your clients to help
them break through emotional blocks -- Emotional Freedom Technique. So,
think about marketing and promoting your business and bring any emotions
which don't serve you to our meeting. We'll be asking for a couple
volunteers to work with, and everyone will practice and benefit. |

Reproducing Excellence: NLP and Coaching This program will briefly introduce NLP, the foundation of its success and one useful tool for the process of coaching. NLP is the study of what works in thinking, language and behavior – how our brain works with our language patterns to produce (or not) the results we want in life. Coaches know that people are multi-faceted with needs in a variety of areas, and one size does not fit all when it comes to taking new actions, achieving goals, or changing habits or behaviors. We all have our own unique mental map of the world, and how we construct our view of the world determines how we navigate the world we live in. New powers of choice lie within the freedom to change one’s map of the world and experience new results. NLP is also the study of reproducing excellence and presupposes that what is possible for top performers and goal achievers is possible for others to learn, practice, and use to generate new results in their own lives. It provides strategies for both the conscious mind and the unconscious mind so that we can learn how we do what we do, and keep reproducing more of the same. NLP presupposes that success comes from within and depends on excellence in our thinking, speaking and doing, and is the study of the patterns and habits in these areas that produce or inhibit results. NLP examines the structure of the brain, and how that structure can be coded in others and be enhanced to establish what works for them. Annette Rolls is an Organizational Development Consultant who specializes in improving business results by creating engaged workforces. Her areas of expertise include Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Coaching, Strategic Planning, Team Development, Training and Instructional Design, and building Competency Models and Performance Management Systems. She will graduate from Newfield Network’s Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery program in April and is currently blending coaching competencies with NLP skills in coaching her clients. She pursues coaching because she is committed to the belief that organizations can be places where individuals can live authentically, self-aware and in pursuit of their highest dreams as a mechanism for achieving business results in new and extraordinary ways. |
